When Rabbi Joshua's time on this earth was drawing to a close, God, in His infinite wisdom, instructed the Malach HaMavet – the Angel of Death – to visit him. But this wasn't just any ordinary visit. God commanded the angel to fulfill any request the rabbi might have. Imagine that!

So, the Angel of Death appears before Rabbi Joshua, and what does the rabbi do? Does he plead for more time? Ask for forgiveness? Nope. He says, "Show me my place in the Gan Eden – the Garden of Eden." Talk about going straight to the point!

The Angel, perhaps a little surprised by the request, obliges. He escorts Rabbi Joshua on a celestial tour, revealing the rabbi's destined spot in paradise. But Rabbi Joshua isn't done yet. Oh no, this is just the beginning.
