Caleb son of Jephunneh. And why was he called by this name? Because with the words that were upon his heart he answered Moses, and not like the words that were upon the heart of the spies. And as it is said, "But My servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him" (Numbers 14:24); and it says, "and I brought back word to him" (Joshua 14:7).
