REVELATION IN RECENT GENERATIONS This raises a question: Why was the Zohar not revealed to earlier generations, which were no doubt at a higher level than the later generations and more worthy of it? In addition, why was the [proper] interpretation of the Zohar not revealed until the time of the Ari z”l and not [during the time of] the earlier kabbalists? And the greatest question of all: Why was the [proper] interpretation of the words of the Ari z”l and the Zohar not revealed until this generation?
