"And Sisera summoned" (Judges 4:13). Sisera came against them with forty thousand commanders of troops, and each one had a hundred thousand men with him. He was thirty years old, and he had conquered the whole world by his strength. There was no walled city whose wall he did not topple by his voice; and even a wild beast in the field, once he set his voice upon it, could not stir from its place. They said: when he would go down to bathe in the brook of Kishon, he would draw up in his beard enough fish to feed many people. And there were nine hundred horses in his chariotry, and on the return not one of them came back in peace.
