"And the Philistines put out his eyes" (Judges 16:21). This is what the verse says: "All things come alike to all: as is the good, so is the sinner; he that swears, as he that fears an oath" (Ecclesiastes 9:2). "He that swears" refers to Zedekiah, whom Nebuchadnezzar made to swear, "whom he had made to swear by God" (2 Chronicles 36:13). "He that fears an oath" refers to Samson, as it is said, "Swear unto me that ye will not fall upon me yourselves" (Judges 15:12). This one died by the putting out of the eyes, and that one died by the putting out of the eyes.
