The labourers of R. Nahman b. Isaac removed a small mound, when a man sprang up from underneath. He had been buried long before but did not rot, because he had been patient and meek and not envious, had never talked in Synagogue nor college, but had listened and learned. He was buried again in the same spot and the earth was replaced over him at his request and he appeared to R. Nahman in the night in a new coffin with his face lit up.
