"Six days you shall gather it" (Exodus 16:26). Rabbi Yehoshua says: We have learned that the manna did not come down on the Sabbath. From where do we learn that it did not come down on a festival? Scripture teaches: "on the Sabbath there shall be none in it" (Exodus 16:26). Rabbi Eleazar of Modi'in says: "Six days you shall gather it" — we have learned that the manna did not come down on the Sabbath.
