"If another (wife) he take for himself," I might think that this ("he shall not, etc.") refers to the Jewess (that he is taking); it is, therefore, written "he shall not diminish." With whom does "diminution" obtain? With one who has already been given something (i.e., the Hebrew maid-servant).)
