Treasure Up My Words And Be Saved From Three Calamities

Midrash Mishlei 2:1

(Proverbs 2:1): "My son, if you take my words and treasure up my commandments with you" - the Holy One, blessed be He, said to Israel at Mount Sinai: If you are worthy to treasure up and receive my Torah and to do it, I will rescue you from three calamities: from the war of Gog and Magog, from the birth-pangs of the Messiah, and from the judgment of Gehinnom. "And treasure up my commandments with you" - if you are worthy to treasure up the words of Torah, I will satisfy you from the hidden good that I have treasured up for the time to come, as it is said (Psalms 31:20): "How abundant is your goodness, which you have treasured up for those who fear you [and worked for those who take refuge in you, before all people]." The Holy One, blessed be He, said: I will make known to the nations of the world in the time to come all that goodness with which I do good to you, on condition that you incline your ears to the words of Torah. This is what is written (Proverbs 2:2): "To make your ear attend to wisdom, etc." How so? (Proverbs 2:3): "For if you call out to understanding."
