(Proverbs 2:10): "For wisdom will enter your heart" - if you have acquired the words of Torah, they keep you; "and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul" - that they make pleasant you and your soul and your knowledge, as it is said (Proverbs 9:12): "If you are wise, you are wise for yourself." If you have labored in the words of Torah, I have a good reward to give you; and if you have been idle from the Torah, you have many idle ones against you. (Proverbs 2:11): "Discretion will watch over you, understanding will guard you" - if you have placed your neck under the yoke of Torah, it will guard you, as it is said (Proverbs 6:22): "When you walk, it will lead you" - in this world; "when you lie down, it will watch over you" - at the hour of death; "and when you awake, it will converse with you" - in the time to come.
