Midrash Mishlei 24:1

(Proverbs 24:10): "If you slacken in the day of trouble, your strength is small" - Rabbi Abbahu said: anyone who slackens himself from the words of Torah has no strength to stand in the day of trouble. Rabbi Yitzchak said: anyone who slackens himself from the words of Torah is unable to answer in the day of trouble. Rabbi Levi said: "if you slacken" - in any case [whatever you slacken in, your strength will fail].
