God Repays Israel for the Tabernacle Curtains and Ark

Midrash Tanchuma Buber, Vayakhel 11:2

The Holy One, blessed be He, said: You made for Me curtains of goats' hair for a tent over the Tabernacle. When you went out of Egypt, I brought a cloud, and it shielded you. Even though you are unruly toward Me, I will requite you in the world to come, as it is said, "And the Lord will create over the whole habitation of Mount Zion, and over her assemblies, a cloud by day" (Isaiah 4:5). You made before Me a cover (kapporet); I will atone (mekhapper) for you for all your iniquities, as it is said, "When I forgive you" (Ezekiel 16:63). You made before Me an ark (aron); by your lives, I will give light (me'ir) to you, as it is said, "And the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun" (Isaiah 30:26); and it says, "Light is sown for the righteous" (Psalms 97:11).
