Why Moses Must Die Because the First Adam Ate from the Tree

Midrash Tanchuma Buber, Vaetchanan 5:2

The first Adam, who ate from the tree, brought death upon all. Another interpretation: AND THE LORD SAID TO ME: ENOUGH FROM YOU (Deuteronomy 3:26). Your litigant has already preceded you, for Job has already said, "O that someone would give me a hearing! [Here is my mark; let Shaddai answer me, and let the book that my accuser has written]" (Job 31:35). And which book is this? This is "the book of the generations of Adam" (Genesis 5:1). And what did Job say? "The small and the great are there, and the slave is free from his masters" (Job 3:19). Hence: ENOUGH FROM YOU, DO NOT SPEAK ANY MORE (Deuteronomy 3:26).
