Rabbi Simeon, son of Rabbi Hiyya, said to him: "But isn't it written, 'And he rejected the tent of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim; but chose the tribe of Judah, mount Zion which he loved'?" He replied to him: "Indeed, this supports the opinion of my father, that just as the choice that was mentioned in the tribe of Judah was mentioned only in relation to Benjamin, so too the rejection that was mentioned in the tribe of Joseph was mentioned only in relation to the tribe of Benjamin."...
