Rabbi Eleazar son of Rabbi Shimon and the Astonished Donkey Drivers

Pesikta DeRav Kahana 11:18

Some donkey drivers came into Rabbi Eleazar son of Rabbi Shimon's town wanting to buy grain. They found him sitting before the oven; his mother would hand him bread and he would eat, she would hand him more and he would eat, until he had eaten the whole batch of dough. They said: woe, an evil serpent dwells in this man's belly. He heard their words. What did he do to them? He took their donkeys and raised them up onto the top of the roof. They went and told his father. He said to them: perhaps you let him hear some unkind word? They said: we saw him sitting before the oven, his mother handing him bread and he eating until he had eaten the whole batch of dough, and we said, woe that an evil serpent dwells in this man's belly. He said to them: perhaps he was eating what is his own? The One who created him created his sustenance for him. Even so, go and say to him in my name, and he will bring them down for you. They went and told him, and the last miracle was harder than the first: when he had raised them up, he raised them one by one, but when he brought them down, he brought them down two by two.
