Jerusalem Saves Her Greatest Joy for the King

Pesikta DeRav Kahana 22:3

This is like a noblewoman whose husband, son, and son-in-law went to a country across the sea. They said to her: Your sons have come. She said to them: Let my daughters-in-law rejoice. Here are your sons-in-law. She said to them: Let my daughters rejoice. When they said to her: Here is your husband, she said to them: This is joy, joy that is complete. So the prophets say to Jerusalem, "Your sons shall come from afar" (Isaiah 60:4), and she says to them, "Let Mount Zion be glad" (Psalms 48:12). "And your daughters shall be carried at the side" (Isaiah 60:4), and she says to them, "Let the daughters of Judah rejoice" (Psalms ibid.). And when they say to her, "Behold, your king comes to you" (Zechariah 9:9), she says to them: This is joy, joy that is complete. "I will greatly rejoice in the LORD" (Isaiah 61:10).
