Send Your Light and Your Truth as Moses and Aaron

Pesikta DeRav Kahana 5:4

Yehudah bar Nachman in the name of Rabbi Shimon ben Lakish opened: "Send Your light and Your truth; they shall lead me, they shall bring me to Your holy mountain and to Your dwelling places" (Psalms 43:3). "Send Your light" - this is Moses, "and Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone" (Exodus 34:29). "And Your truth" - this is Aaron, "a Torah of truth was in his mouth" (Malachi 2:6), "Your Tummim and Your Urim belong to Your pious one" (Deuteronomy 33:8). And some reverse it: "Send Your light" - this is Aaron, "Your Tummim and Your Urim belong to Your pious one"; "and Your truth" - this is Moses, "not so My servant Moses, in all My house he is faithful" (Numbers 12:7). Rabbi Yitzchak said: From the sea Moses foresaw that he would not enter the land of Israel - "she watches the ways of her household" (Proverbs 31:27). It is not written "You shall bring him and plant him," but rather "You shall bring them and plant them" (Exodus 15:17). But is it not written here "they shall bring me to Your holy mountain and to Your dwelling places" (Psalms 43:3)? Rather, these are the scholars of the land of Israel, who are holy like the land of Israel. Another interpretation: "Send Your light and Your truth" (Psalms ibid.) - these are Moses and Aaron, through whom the Holy One, blessed be He, sent light to Israel to redeem them from Egypt. When? In this month: "This month shall be for you the beginning of months" (Exodus 12:2).
