None Shall Stand Before You and the Book of the Torah

Yalkut Shimoni on Nach 4:7

"No man shall stand before you" (Joshua 1:5). I have only "a man"; from where do we know a nation, a family, or a woman with her sorceries? The verse teaches, "shall not stand" -- in any case. If so, why is "a man" said? Rather, even one like Og king of Bashan. "This book of the Torah shall not depart from your mouth" (Joshua 1:8). Rabbi Shimon ben Yochai said: The book of Deuteronomy was his ensign. At the time the Holy One, blessed be He, revealed Himself to him, He found him sitting with the book of Deuteronomy in his hand. He said to him, "Be strong, Joshua! Be courageous, Joshua! 'This book of the Torah shall not depart from your mouth.'"
