"Most blessed of women shall Jael be" (Judges 5:24). Is this the way of the world, to say such a thing? Yet he speaks to her in the customary manner. For it is written, "May God make the name of Solomon better [than your name] and make his throne greater than your throne" (1 Kings 1:47). Now, is it the way of the world to speak thus to a king? Rather, he speaks to him only in the customary manner [as a conventional courtesy].
