Four Who Made Vows Two Who Gained and Two Who Lost

Yalkut Shimoni on Nach 68:2

There are four who made vows: two vowed and profited, and two vowed and lost. Jacob vowed and lost, for his wife Rachel died. Jephthah vowed and lost his daughter. Israel vowed and profited, as it is said, "And Israel vowed a vow" (Numbers 21:2). Hannah vowed and profited, as it is said, "And she vowed a vow and said" (I Samuel 1:11).
