Eli Blesses Hannah and Her Face Is Restored

"Do not regard your servant as a wicked woman" (1 Samuel 1:16). Do not treat me harshly. And Eli answered and said to her, "Go in peace" (1 Samuel 1:17) - peace from me, peace from your Creator. "And may the God of Israel grant your petition" is written - he said to her: this son whom you are destined to raise will be a great despoiler in Torah [one who carries off much learning]. "And the woman went her way" (1 Samuel 1:18) - what is meant by "her way"? That she separated from the state of a menstruant. "And her face was no longer to her" - this teaches that her face had been like an ape's, and now it was healed.
