This is what Scripture says: "Say to God, How awesome are Your works" (Psalms 66:3). Rabbi Eliezer the son of Rabbi Yose the Galilean says: Say to the good Workman, well done, "How awesome are Your works" -- how fearsome are these instruments of Yours, where the slain slay their slayers, and the impaled impale those who impaled them, and those drowned in the sea drown those who drowned them. "Through the greatness of Your power Your enemies submit themselves to You" (Psalms 66:3) -- they will lie, and Your enemies will be made to cringe. Nebuchadnezzar said, "Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego." Pharaoh said, "I do not know the LORD" (Exodus 5:2), and he became a flatterer and said, "The LORD is righteous." He had said, "Neither will I let Israel go" (Exodus 5:2). The Holy One, blessed be He, said to him: Come to Pharaoh, and through your hand he will send them out, as it is said, "He sent Moses His servant, and Aaron whom He had chosen." "And He brought forth His people with gladness" (Psalms 105:43).
