God Leaps Over the Reckonings to Redeem Israel Early

Yalkut Shimoni on Torah 190:2

"This month shall be for you" (Exodus 12:2). This is what is written, "The voice of my beloved! Behold, it comes" (Song of Songs 2:8). Rabbi Yehudah says: "The voice of my beloved" is Moses. At the hour when he said to Israel, "In this month you are redeemed," they said to him, "Moses our teacher, how can we be redeemed? Did not the Holy One, blessed be He, say to Abraham our father, "And they shall serve them and they shall afflict them four hundred years" (Genesis 15:13), and we hold only two hundred and ten in our hand?" He said to them: since He desires your redemption, He does not look at your reckonings, but rather "leaping upon the mountains" (Song of Songs 2:8): leaping over the appointed ends, over the reckonings, and over the intercalations; and in this month you are redeemed.
