"And Moses said to them: let no one leave any of it over until morning. But they did not listen to Moses" (Exodus 16:19-20). These were the ones of deficient faith in Israel. "And some men left of it over": they said, the good men did not leave any over, and those who were not good men left some over. "And it bred worms and stank": now this verse is in reversed order, for once it breeds worms it would stink afterward; rather, it stank and afterward bred worms, as the matter is said (in verse 24), "and it did not stink, nor was there any worm in it." "And Moses was angry with them": he was angry with them and said to them, why have you done this?
