The Manna You Will Not Find Today but Will Find Tomorrow

Yalkut Shimoni on Torah 261:2

"And Moses said, Eat it today" (Exodus 16:25-26), for they were accustomed to go out in the morning, and so on. They said to him: since we did not go out in the morning, let us go out at twilight. He said to them: "for today is a Sabbath to the LORD." What does it teach by saying "today you shall not find it in the field"? They said: the heart of our ancestors broke at that moment, when they were saying, since we did not find it today, perhaps we shall not find it tomorrow. He said to them: today you do not find it, but tomorrow you will find it. Rabbi Elazar ben Chisma says: in this world you do not find it, but in the world to come you will find it.
