The Bride and the Scholar of Twenty-Four Books

Yalkut Shimoni on Torah 391:13

"And He gave to Moses when He finished" (Exodus 31:18). Rav Huna said in the name of Resh Lakish: Just as this bride is adorned with twenty-four kinds of ornaments, so a Torah scholar must be diligent in the twenty-four books. Rabbi Levi said: Just as this bride, all the while she is in her father's house, keeps herself hidden and no one recognizes her, but when she comes to enter the bridal canopy she uncovers her face, as if to say, Whoever knows testimony about me, let him come and testify concerning me, so a Torah scholar must be modest like this bride and renowned for his good deeds like this bride who is renowned.
