“Vanity of vanities, said Kohelet; everything is vanity” (Ecclesiastes 12:8). “Vanity of vanities” – it is taught: When a wealthy person takes possession of a good item, at first he is desirous of it, but when it grows old for him, he uses it for trampling. A poor person, too, whose portion is meager, his eyes are directed to claim what the wealthy person rejects. This one has desire and that one has desire.
