Six Years You Shall Sow the Land Then the Sabbatical Rest

Mekhilta DeRabbi Shimon Ben Yochai 23:10

"And six years you shall sow your land" (Exodus 23:10). How do I know that rice, millet, poppy, and sesame that took root before Rosh Hashanah may be gathered in the seventh year? Scripture teaches, "and gather in its produce" — in the seventh year. Could this be even though they did not take root? Scripture teaches, "six years you shall sow and gather in": six sowings and six gatherings, not six sowings and seven gatherings. Rabbi Natan ben Yosef says: one verse says, "Six years you shall sow your field" (Leviticus 25:3), and another verse says, "Six years you shall sow your land." How can both verses be upheld? One refers to when Israel entered the land, and one to when they came up from the exile.
