Abraham Names Ishmael as a Prophet and the Counting of His Years

Midrash Aggadah, Genesis 16:15

"And Abram called the name of his son" etc. (Genesis 16:15) — just as the angel said to Hagar. And from here you learn that Abraham was a prophet, for he called him Ishmael. "And Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael" (Genesis 16:16). Therefore the years of Ishmael were counted, for he was thirteen years old when his father circumcised him, and he did not object.
