Isaac Smells the Temple Built, Destroyed, and Rebuilt

Midrash Aggadah, Genesis 27:27

"See, the smell of my son is like the smell of a field" (Genesis 27:27). He saw the Holy Temple built, destroyed, and rebuilt. "The smell of my son" — [read as] "built," as it is written, "My offering, My bread for My fire-offerings, a pleasing aroma" (Numbers 28:2). "Like the smell of a field" — destroyed, as it is said, "Zion shall be plowed as a field" (Jeremiah 26:18). "Which the LORD has blessed" — rebuilt, as it is said, "For there the LORD commanded the blessing" (Psalms 133:3).
