Midrash Aggadah on Revenge and Grudge-Bearing with the Axe and Sickle

Midrash Aggadah, Leviticus 19:18

"You shall not take revenge and you shall not bear a grudge." "You shall not take revenge": [if] he said to him, "Lend me your axe," and he did not lend it [to him]; the next day he said to him, "Lend me your sickle," [and] he said to him, "I will not lend you, just as you did not lend me [yours]" — this is revenge. "You shall not bear a grudge": [if] he said to him, "Lend me your axe," and he did not lend it [to him]; the next day he came to him [and] said to him, "Lend me your sickle," [and] he said to him, "Here, take it; I am not like you, who did not lend me [yours]" — this is grudge-bearing.
