The Eyes Of The Lord Face Every Road A Person Walks

Midrash Mishlei 5:7

(Proverbs 5:21): "For the ways of a man are before the eyes of the LORD" — let a person not say, "I will go and commit a transgression, for the Holy One, blessed be He, does not see me." Why might he think so? Because He is in heaven and you are on the earth. Yet even so, know: "the ways of a man are before the eyes of the LORD." Another interpretation of "For the ways of a man are before the eyes of the LORD": if a person goes to do a matter of commandment, that commandment is reckoned to his account; and if he goes to do a matter of transgression, that transgression is reckoned to his account. "And He weighs all his paths" (Proverbs 5:21) — from here the Sages said (Mishnah Avot 2:1): "Know what is above you: an eye that sees, and an ear that hears, and all your deeds are written in a book."
