Appointed Times From Eden to the Torah at Sinai

Pesikta DeRav Kahana 12:7

"For everything there is a season" (Ecclesiastes 3:1). There was a season for the first man to enter the Garden of Eden, as it says, "And the LORD God took the man and placed him in the Garden of Eden" (Genesis 2:15). And there was a season for him to leave, as it says, "And He drove out the man" (Genesis 3:24). There was a season for Noah and his sons to enter the ark, "Come, you and all your household, into the ark" (Genesis 7:1). And there was a season for him to leave, "Go out from the ark" (Genesis 8:16). There was a season for our father Abraham, that circumcision be given through him, "And you shall keep My covenant" (Genesis 17:9). And there was a season for his descendants to fall twice, once in Egypt and once in the wilderness. "And a time for every desire under the heavens" (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Rabbi Bivai said: a desired thing that is above the heavens was given to Moses from the heavens, and what is this? This is the Torah. When? "In the third month" (Exodus 19:1).
