Ibzan Is Boaz and the Hundred and Twenty Feasts He Made

"Ibzan of Bethlehem" (Judges 12:8). Rabbah bar Yitzchak said that Rabbi Yitzchak said: This Ibzan is Boaz. And Rabbah bar Yitzchak said: Boaz made a hundred and twenty wedding feasts for his children, as it is said, "And he had thirty sons, and thirty daughters he sent abroad, and thirty daughters he brought in from abroad for his sons" (Judges 12:9). And at all of them he did not invite Manoah, for he said: With what will that barren mule repay me? It is taught: And they all died in his lifetime. And this is what people say: In your lifetime your wife bore sixty and sixty [children]; what benefit do you have, since they died? Strive instead and beget one good [child] who is worth sixty.
