"For then you shall make your ways prosperous, and then you shall be wise" (Joshua 1:8). Said Rabbi Yehoshua ben Levi, anyone who occupies himself with Torah, his possessions prosper. This matter is written in the Torah, repeated in the Prophets, and stated a third time in the Writings. Written in the Torah: "And you shall keep the words of this covenant and do them, in order that you may prosper in all that you do" (Deuteronomy 29:8). Repeated in the Prophets: "It shall not depart..." (Joshua 1:8). Stated a third time in the Writings: "But his delight is in the Torah of the LORD... and whatever he does shall prosper" (Psalms 1:2-3).
