Another interpretation: With their own eagerness Israel went out of Egypt, as it is said (Exodus 12:11), "And thus shall you eat it: your loins girded" and so forth. Rabbi [Judah the Prince] says: ["He brings out prisoners in fit times (kosharot)"] - they were rebellious, yet He dealt with them with worthiness (be-hekhsherut), and likewise it says, "And I said: Let each cast away the detestable things of his eyes, and so forth, and I acted for the sake of My name, that it not be profaned." Indeed they were rebellious, yet He dealt with them with worthiness. "This day you are going out" and so forth: Scripture need not say "the month of spring" except to teach that the year in which Israel went out did not need to be intercalated. דָּבָר אַחֵר, בִּזְרִיזוּת עַצְמָן יָצְאוּ יִשְׂרָאֵל מִמִּצְרַיִם, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (שמות יב, א) "וְכָכָה תֹּאכְלוּ אֹתוֹ מָתְנֵיכֶם" וְגוֹ'. רַבִּי אוֹמֵר, ["מוֹצִיא אֲסִירִים בַּכּוֹשָׁרוֹת"], סוֹרְרִים הָיוּ אֶלָּא שֶׁנָּהַג עִמָּהֶן בְּהֶכְשֵׁרוּת, וְכֵן הוּא אוֹמֵר "וָאֹמֵר אִישׁ שִׁקּוּצֵי עֵינָיו הַשְׁלִיכוּ וְגוֹ' וָאָעַשׂ לְמַעַן שְׁמִי לְבִלְתִּי הֵחֵל", אַךְ סוֹרְרִים הָיוּ אֶלָּא שֶׁנָּהַג עִמָּהֶן בְּהֶכְשֵׁרוּת. הַיּוֹם אַתֶּם יֹצְאִים וְגוֹ'. שֶׁאֵין תַּלְמוּד לוֹמַר חֹדֶשׁ הָאָבִיב, אֶלָּא מַגִּיד שֶׁהַשָּׁנָה שֶׁיָּצְאוּ יִשְׂרָאֵל לֹא הָיְתָה צְרִיכָה לֵיעַבֵּר.
