The Ten Miracles Israel Witnessed at the Sea

Yalkut Shimoni on Torah 233:6

"And you, lift up your rod" (Exodus 14:16). Ten miracles were performed for Israel at the sea. The waters were split and made into a kind of vault, as it is said, "You pierced with his own staves" (Habakkuk 3:14). It was divided into two, as it is said, "Stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it" (Exodus 14:16). It was made into dry land, as it is said, "And the children of Israel walked on dry land" (Exodus 14:22). It was made into a kind of clay, as it is said, "You trod the sea with Your horses, the clay" and so on (Habakkuk 3:15). It was made into crumbs upon crumbs, as it is said, "You broke the sea in pieces by Your strength" (Psalms 74:13). It was made into rocks upon rocks, as it is said, "the heads of the sea monsters upon the waters." It was made into slices upon slices, as it is said, "to Him who divided the Red Sea into parts" (Psalms 136:13). It was made into heaps upon heaps, as it is said, "And with the blast of Your nostrils the waters were heaped up" (Exodus 15:8). It was made like a wall, as it is said, "the floods stood upright like a wall" (Exodus 15:8). Sweet waters came forth for them out of the salt, as it is said, "And He brought streams out of the rock." The sea congealed from both parts and became a kind of glassy mass, as it is said, "the depths congealed" (Exodus 15:8).
