There was a certain man who would go about saying: when my love was strong, we could lie together on the edge of a sword; now that our love is not strong, a bed of sixty cubits is not enough for us. Rav Kahana said: the verses are written. At first it is written, "and I will meet with you there" and so on, and in the end it is written, "thus says the LORD, the heavens are My throne and the earth is My footstool; where then is the house that you would build for Me?" (Isaiah 66:1).
