"And he said, 'Let us journey and let us go'" (Genesis 33:12). When that wicked one saw Jacob's wealth, he reflected in his heart and said: What is this world — and it is not his portion — yet my brother is at this eminence; the World to Come, how much more so! Immediately he requested of Jacob that he would inherit half of this world, and that Jacob would inherit half the World to Come.
