Happy The One Who Calls To Wisdom At The Gates

Midrash Mishlei 8:1

... Rabbi Meir used to say: Happy is the one who keeps his heart far from another man's wife and from transgression, and who calls to wisdom; for because he calls to wisdom, he is answered with understanding: "Doth not wisdom cry, and understanding put forth her voice?" (Prov. 8:1). From where does she put forth her voice? From on high, from the height of the world. This is what is written: "She standeth in the top of high places, by the way; the house of the paths she taketh her stand" (Prov. 8:2). What is written after it? "She crieth beside the gates, at the entrance of the town" (Prov. 8:3) — because you call to wisdom, she stands at your gates; therefore it is said "beside the gates." "At the coming in at the doors she singeth" (Prov. 8:3) — because you sit and sing out the words of Torah, she too sings out at your doorways; therefore it is said "at the coming in at the doors she singeth."
