Rabbi Yitzchak opened: "An altar of earth you shall make for Me," etc. (Exodus 20:20). Now behold, these matters are a kal va-chomer (an argument from minor to major): for if one who offers up a burnt-offering and peace-offerings to the Omnipresent — the Omnipresent reveals Himself to him and blesses him; Elkanah, who gathered [Israel] to Me, etc.
