"And she brought him up with her, when she had weaned him, etc." (1 Samuel 1:24). Here you say, "And she brought him to the house of the LORD in Shiloh" (ibid.), and elsewhere you say, "And he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh" (Psalms 78:60). Rabbi Eliezer in the name of Rabbi Yose son of Rabbi Hanina: the house of Shiloh was stones below and curtains above, while Jerusalem was a house of stones below and the roof above. Rabbi Ze'ira asked: could it be that even the boards [were there]? Rabbi Shimon ben Lakish said to him: is it not thus written, "its clasps, its boards" (Exodus 39:33)? Rabbi Hiyya bar Idi asked: could it be that [it was] like the height of the [Jerusalem] house?
