Another interpretation of "When you walk, it will guide you" (Proverbs 6:22): at the time when a person toils in Torah during his life. "When you lie down, it will watch over you" — [for it watches over him] from worm and from maggot. "And when you awaken, it will converse with you" — in the time to come, when all shall stand in judgment, it is his advocate and pleads merit on his behalf.

ד"א בהתהלכך תנחה אותך, בשעה שאדם יגע בתורה בחייו, בשכבך תשמר עליך [שהיא משמרת אותו] מרימה ותולעה, והקיצות היא תשיחך לעתיד כשיעמדו הכל בדין היא סניגורין שלו ומלמדת עליו זכות.
