God Sees the Hidden Sin of the Sotah Wife Who Strays

"Any man whose wife goes astray" (Numbers 5:12). This is what Scripture said: "Can a man hide himself in secret places, and I will not see him? says the Lord" (Jeremiah 23:24). [Rabbi Benjamin son of Rabbi Levi said:] The Holy One, blessed be He, said: If a person does a deed, shall I not see it? For behold, it is written, "The eyes of the Lord, they range throughout all the earth" (Zechariah 4:10). And what is written? "And I will not see him" — meaning, I will not show him to others and publicize his deeds. What is the meaning of "Do I not fill the heavens and the earth? says the Lord" (Jeremiah 23:24)?
