The LORD Saved Israel Like a Bird Snatched From the Fowler

Yalkut Shimoni on Torah 239:1

"And the LORD saved Israel that day from the hand of Egypt" (Exodus 14:30). This is like a bird that is held in a person's hand: if he presses his hand down just a little, the bird is immediately strangled in his grip. As it is said, "Our soul has escaped like a bird from the fowlers' snare; the snare is broken, and we have escaped. Blessed be the LORD, who has not given us as prey to their teeth" (Psalms 124:6-7). And it is like a person who draws out the fetus from the womb of a cow. As it is said, "Or has any god ventured" (Deuteronomy 4:34) - for the verse need not say "from the midst of a nation," except to teach that it was like a person who draws out the fetus from the womb of a cow. As it is said, "and the LORD took you and brought you out" (and so forth).
