"And with him was Oholiab son of Ahisamach" (Exodus 38:23). Rabbi Yochanan said: From where do we learn that a person should not change from the craft of his ancestors? As it is said, "And King Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre. He was a widow's son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in bronze" (1 Kings 7:13-14). And the master said: his mother was from the tribe of Dan; and it is written, "And with him was Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan" (Exodus 38:23).
