I want to tell you a story, a personal one, about a mission I undertook. It all started with a plea. I saw an opportunity to speak to the king, to advocate for the Jewish captives. These were people who had been brought from Judea to Egypt by the king's own father, back when he first seized this city and conquered the land. Can you imagine the displacement, the hardship?
It was a weighty task, and one I embraced wholeheartedly.
And speaking of stories, I want to share this one with you too, because I know your heart. I know your leanings toward holiness, your empathy for those who live by sacred law. You, who have only recently arrived from the island, eager to hear anything that nourishes the soul. I know you'll appreciate the account I'm about to share.
