The latter wrote on the door: ‘‘After joy death.” Invited afterwards to another dinner, he kept the guests so amused by his jokes and sallies, telling 300 Fox-fables at every dish, that the dinner was spoiled. In this way he was revenged on his host. He afterwards became reconciled to R. Shimeon.
