"The LORD, the God of your fathers, add [yosef] to you etc." (Deuteronomy 1:11). They said to Moses our teacher, peace be upon him: "We do not need your blessing, for the Holy One, blessed be He, said to Abraham, 'I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of heaven' (Genesis 22:17), and you have set a limit to our blessing." Moses said to them: "That which I bless you is of my own, but that which the Holy One, blessed be He, blessed your fathers does not come to diminish it but to add to it; rather, He shall bless you as He has spoken to you."
