"And four hundred men with him" (Genesis 32:7). And what is the greatness of this? Rather, four hundred binders of crowns were with him. And since Jacob heard of all those great things, he was afraid, and he divided his sons and his wives into two camps, as it is said, "And Jacob was greatly afraid" (Genesis 32:8).
